you may remember my goal to cook more, now that i live alone and have way too much free time than i know what to do with. i’ve also taken up yoga and snowboarding as you already know, but we’re talking about food now, which is much more fun. OBVIOUSLY.

since the arrival of my kitchenaid and the departure of l-more, my kitchen has been a constant whirlpool of me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, sautéing and broiling and chopping and whisking while my floor takes the brunt of it.
seriously, i sweep and mop like three times a week. i’m a messy cook, i guess.

i’ve worked my way through some of lemmonex’s archived recipes, and have discovered plenty of new recipe blogs through her and others. i started to notice that lots of food blogs were linked to smitten kitchen. one day when i had nothing going on at work, i wound up reading months and months of SK archives and fell in love with everything on the site.

i think the entire office blames me when we get close to running out of printer paper. the stack of recipes on my desk to take home is about 2 inches thick.

and now, my most favorite of all. i made this caramelized onion and cauliflower tart the other night, and that right there is how much i polished off myself. holy AMAZING batman.
yep, it's THAT good.
and the best part? i actually LIKE cooking now. how’s that for a switch? i like blasting music and dancing around the kitchen while the latest attempt is in the oven. i like contributing to conversation at work that involve new recipe ideas or suggestions on how to make something.
and i REALLY like seeing other bloggers featuring recipes they’ve tried.

I am so happy to see this. You have no idea.
Those look delicious…I enjoy cooking too, but it’s difficult for me to get excited to cook for just myself so I give you serious credit for commiting to it.

My new food processor would probably make my world if I weren’t too scared to use it. I made the mistake of reading the directions and now I’m scared I’m going to fuck it up. HELP!
