i’ll say it time and again, i prefer to be busy. i like floating from one thing to the next and conquering my to-do list, and i even like it when plans go wrong and something else pops up totally out of the blue.
november i went to NYC. december i went to DC and home. january i went to NYC. february i had three friends visit on three different weekends and went to vermont. i have seven weekends before my last day here in saratoga, and all but one have something going on.
which is why DURING the week, i have chosen to sit on my ass on the couch and JUST DO NOTHING. even though being busy has its upsides, there are certainly times when all i want to do is put on sweatpants and a sweatshirt, plop my ass down on to the couch, watch tv or pop in a movie, and tune out everything around me. i relax in sweatpants and wrapped in a blanket and usually pass out for brief periods of time.
(i’m telling you, the weekend jenn came and we did that for 2.5 days – it was AWESOME)
don’t get me wrong, i’m PUMPED for everything – i just need to make sure i have enough recovery time in between, since obviously we’ll be going full out hardcore (maxie, i’m looking at you) and no one likes a sluggish lame-o when there is fun to be had!
here’s (a horrible graphic of) my calendar from march 1 through my last day. everything in orange either requires travel myself or is someone else traveling here.
normally this is where i’d ask for suggestions on places to go/things to do on trips. but “doing nothing” requires actually doing nothing, so i’ll refrain.
to those of you i’m seeing in the next two months, I CAN’T WAIT!!! mischief and debauchery lie ahead, and we’ll karaoke to the max! and to my couch, i’ll see you sunday when i return from the city. we’ll have plenty of bonding time.

i need to look into these “doing nothing” days. i used to be VERY VERY GOOD at them.
This calendar does not extend to May…will you be in VEGAS!!!! ?
holy crap that’s a lot of stuff, and i thought i was busy! you put me to shame, haha.
And I used to think that my calendar was packed, I don;t feel so busy anymore
Down time days are good for everyone, if I didn”t have that little person running around that I gave birth to I’d sketch some more of those in myself.
I agree, always better to be busy than bored, but it’s important to schedule time to recover. Especially if Jay-Z is going to be visiting at the end of march.
Holy crap thats a lot of things going on. I always like to have plans, but I must make sure I balance that out with some down time.
